Wow! It is hard to describe the kind of experience you get on a bike ride.  You try to tell others but until they do it for the first time, and get the goose bumps on their arms, this will never fully comprehend it.  And I guess this is the premise behind Cycle City’s Ride N Dine Club, because we have a great time every time and are always looking for more riders.

This was not our first ride from the new location on Peach Street, but it was the first time we had a strong turnout.  Last week Big Rick took a few dedicated riders out despite the hit and miss weather.

As the group gathered and weather, this week, remain pristine we realized it was a perfect combination for a great ride.  Heading east we made our way through Wattsburgh where we jumped on Route 474 and ventured through some great scenery.  This week’s ride took us to Davidson’s in Lakewood NY.  They are famous for their beer battered fish and that was enough to hook me.  The portions were super sized and the prices were minimized.

I came to find out later in the evening that my parents use to date and go there all the time, in the 60’s their Friday night fish fry use to be the biggest thing in the region.  My father was surprised it was still around and is now looking forward to taking another trip, after all it has been 40 years since they were there.

It seems that no matter how many rides we go on each week or how far, it never gets old and the ride back was long and full of bugs but I know most of us would have rode on for hours if we didn’t have to get up this morning and earn the keep.

My iron horse was a change from last week, not by mush though.  I am sporting a Suzuki SV650, and while comparable in engine size to the Honda CBR F4i I rode a couple weeks back it does not have the same smooth performance or handling.  That being said this bike is a hot commodity in our used inventory because it is a great city bike.  The engine set up has more torque and you do not need to wind her up to 9,000 RPM to get to the next gear (unless you want to).

I have been getting some video on the recent rides and am figuring out some cool ways to use it.  I am sure you will see it pop up here sooner or later.  Look forward to riding with you guys next week.
